Sello Brian Matjila obtained his undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSc Eng.) Electrical at University of Cape Town and started his carrier as a junior engineer in Eskom Distribution.
He is an accomplished hard-working Electrical Engineer with a Plant Engineer good track record of initiating Plant refurbishment capital projects, leading project management team for major maintenance supply projects, perform plant assessment and technical investigation for Energy and Electricity Utility Industry.
With comprehensive knowledge of conceptual design and maintaining of electrical equipment to the required specifications to ensure reliability, safety of the personnel and equipment, improve plant performance & reduce downtimes, quality and sustainability.
Brian worked in Health Building Infrastructure Design and Installation as an Chief Electrical Engineer Infrastructure Planning and Implementation in which his role was to conduct feasibility studies on health infrastructures, design and development of electrical health infrastructures, provide input to procurement contracting strategy, design reviews and approvals for the consultant, development of the infrastructure asset management programs. Electrical installation design and compliance audit. Management of project and sign off’s.
As Registered Professional Engineer, he is been appointed by Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Assessor, Moderator and Reviewer of Candidate Engineers application for Professional registration and make recommendation to the registration committee for the applicant to be registered as a Professional Engineer. In addition to this, he also interviews applicants for professional registration on behalf of ECSA.
He also worked as a Commissioning Engineer in Eskom Power Stations in which he worked closely with electrical & mechanical engineers, senior shift supervisors and plant operators for plant routine inspection and maintenance as well as commissioning of the new Plant equipment and technologies.
He further obtained Government Certificate of Competence (GCC Factories) in which was appointed as GMR 2(1) during the time at Eskom while working in a Maintenance and Operation environment under Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 (1993) to fully discharge the duties of GMR 2(1) on the Maintenance and Operation of the Kgalagadi Sector Electrical Distribution Network and Power Plant Machines. He was also appointed as an Incident/Accident Investigator under GAR 9 (2) to investigate all incidents that occurs in my responsible work premises and ensures the section 24 incidents that needs to be reported to Labour Department are done and completed in time. This experience extends further on the development of Plant maintenance strategies and tactics to ensure plant availability and reliability. Manage Plant asset in most effective and sustainable manner.
Brian has obtained his Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management from Stellenbosch University Business School. He applied the skill acquired in the field of Project Management to successfully managed and completed both CAPEX & OPEX project from the feasibility study until close out with a project budget of more than R 4 million. He achieved this by taking the project through project life cycle; developing maintenance contracts and contract management using NEC 3.
At Eskom, he worked as a Senior Engineer Plant Refurbishment in which he acquired the following technical skills: Strategic Asset Management, MV network design, Power System Analysis and Load flow studies including fault level calculations. Plant Risk Assessment, Development of Maintenance Tactics, Plant Compliance as per OHS Act, Development of Contracting Strategies and Procurement Strategies. MV & LV Electrical Infrastructure Design and Installations.
Brian is currently busy completing is Master’s degree in Engineering Management (MEng) with the University of Pretoria and targeting graduate in September 2020 as part of continuous professional development.
Duduzile Nhlapo - Pr. Eng.

AMechanical Engineer with 10 years working experience in power generation, equipped with skills in failure investigation, project management, machine reliability and maintenance management. She has extensive knowledge on the design and maintenance of bulk handling material and conveying system.
Aluwani Muthelo - Pr. Welder
International Fillet , Plate ,Tube Welder (GTAW & MMA)
Aluwani is an International Welding Specialist obtained from the Southern Africa Institute of Welding with over 10 years of industry experience. She has a wealth of experience in mirror welding, welding components in different positions, welding using different welding processes such as GTAW, FCAW, and SMAW. Her experience is also surfaced with in-depth technical knowledge in drawings, welding specifications and supervision.
Her duties include but not limited to welding, reviewing of required and legal documents, inspection and identification of weld on site, supervise welder team on their job assigned and requesting for NDT’s (RT, UT, MT, HT & PMI).
